Future of Scientific Research in Qatar is Promising

Doha, October 21 (QNA) - President of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, Dr Mohammad Fathy Saoud said on Sunday that launching Qatar's research strategy to support the objectives of Qatar's National Vision 2030 is yet another step achieved by the foundation in the field of research and development. On the sidelines of the Joint Qatar Foundation Annual Research Forum and Arab Expatriate Scientists Network Symposium 2012 Saud said the strategy is a gigantic work for which efforts should be garnered . He noted that research has now found its way to Qatari schools , universities and other institutions. The scientific research network which has been set up over the past years serves as an example of the respect and confidence Qatar Foundation and its partners command at the regional and international levels, Saoud said. Saoud noted that scientific research has no geographic boundaries and that it is important to develop partnerships with the international community. Qatar has fulfilled its pledge to be a leading center in scientific research, he said, noting as evidence the contribution of some 2000 participants to Sunday's events. Saoud said he believed that the future of scientific research in Qatar is promising. (QNA)
