Customs General Authority Participates in the 2nd Meeting of the GCC Customs Union
Doha , September 04 (QNA) -The Customs General Authority (CGA) on Tuesday announced its participation in the second meeting of the GCC Customs Union which began its sessions today at the headquarters of the General Secretariat in Riyadh and lasts for two days.
A statement issued by the customs on the meeting, which was convened by the Directors General of the GCC Customs said the participants are to discuss completing the requirements of the GCC Customs Union within the Secretariat plan to reach the final status of the Customs Union by the year 2015.
The statement quoted Ahmed bin Ali Al Mohannadi , the Director General of the General Department of Customs as saying that "the Customs Union is acting steadily towards achieving comprehensive and integrated vision of the role assigned to it within the GCC countries, in terms of facilitating the cooperation mechanisms between the GCC member states on all matters relating to customs work to materlaize aspirations of GCC nationals in the next phase. "
It is expected that the meeting will discuss the minutes of the meetings for study teams and resulted in the recommendations, along with discussing the results of each meeting of the Committee on the Harmonized System of Classification and classifying goods in the GCC States, and the Committee on Customs Procedures and Computer and other topics related to customs work.(QNA)
