Mottaki: Old style of global management, unilateralism ineffective

Tehran, Oct 18, IRNA - Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said here Friday that management of the new world is not possible through old methods and unilateralism.

Mottaki told a press conference at the end of Islam-West Conference
that a new world is being formed and one should know it and one can
not rule the new world through old methods and unilateralism.

He said even if you have all the world media under your control, you
will not be able to keep public opinion ever focusing on the false and
deny the right.

One can not chant in favor of human rights on one point and commit
inhumane measures in Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo prisons, on the other
hand, claiming campaign against extremism and holding talks with them.

"We believe peaceful co-existence of different religions should be on
a strong basis and to this end we believe that dialogue should serve
as a suitable basis to attain insight and should not be followed as a
means to dictate a political approach."
"We live in an inter-connected world; we have to use cooperation as a
necessary but not as a voluntary option so as to have crisis
management," he added.
