SINGAPORE TO HOST ASEAN-CHINA MEETING ON MEDIA COLLABORATION

SINGAPORE, Oct 17 (Bernama) -- Singapore will be hosting the Asean-China Meeting on Media Collaboration on Dec 11 this year during the Asia Media
Festival in Singapore.

Singapore's Minister for Information, Communications and the Arts (MICA) Dr
Lee Boon Yang said the meeting would provide a valuable networking opportunity
for Asean and Chinese media officials and media industry professionals. It would
encourage them to discuss co-production and other media partnerships, he
announced at the Conference of Asean-China Ministers responsible for Information
at Nanning, China Thursday.

In his, speech which was released here, Lee said a Chinese film festival
co-organised by China's State Administration for Radio, Films and Television
and the Media Development Authority of Singapore would also be held during the
media festival.

There is also the Asia Television Forum, which is expected to attract over
5,000 participants from over 50 countries to network, buy, sell, finance and
forge partnerships in the areas of film, TV and animation content.

Held concurrently with the festival would be the first largest ever Asian
exhibition on graphics and interactive techniques for special interest groups,
Lee said.
