Russia, China against sanctioning Iran: Russian paper
Moscow, Oct 15, IRNA - A Russian newspaper wrote on Tuesday that Russia and China are not to join US and some of its European allies to impose new sanctions against Iran.
According to Nezavisimaja Gazeta, US and some of its European allies
were trying to make a new move against Iran and impose new unilateral
sanction on the country for its peaceful nuclear activities.
The paper argued that signing an agreement between Russia's Gazprom
company and National Iranian Oil Company as well as presence of
Russian companies in Iran's South Pars oil field which is the world
largest gas reserve and Moscow's cooperation in a number of other
development projects in Iran have all indicated Russia's reluctance to
joint the US-led anti-Iran campaign.
