Iranian minister: Israel is behind Flame virus

Azerbaijan, Baku, Jun.20/ Trend F.Milad/ The Iranian communications and IT minister has said a special anti-virus program to remove the Flame virus has been developed and distributed to domestic organizations. Reza Taqipour told the ISNA News Agency that the country is ready to encounter such cyber attacks. Iran was among the first countries that found the virus and developed an anti-virus solution, he said. The "Zionist regime" and Western countries are usually behind such cyber attacks, he said. Over recent years, Iran has been the target of several major cyber attacks. In September 2010, it was reported that the Stuxnet worm, which is capable of taking over power plants, had infected many industrial sites in Iran. Iranian officials confirmed that some Iranian industrial systems had been targeted by a cyber attack, but insisted that no crashes or serious damage to the country's industrial computer systems had been reported and said Iranian engineers had rooted out the problem. In April 25, 2011, Iranian officials announced that the country had been targeted by a new computer worm named Stars.
