New head of regional administration appointed in Uzbekistan

Uzbekistan, Tashkent, June 16 / Trend D. Azizov / Uzbek President Islam Karimov approved the appointment of Narmumin Chariev as the governor (head of Surkhandarya administration) on Friday. The presidential decree on Chariev's appointment was published in the country's central mass media today. Narmumin Chariev was appointed as acting head of the regional administration in December. Narmumin Chariev was born in 1959. He graduated from the Tashkent Automobile and Road Construction institute. He is senator, member of the committee on the issues of defense and security of the Senate of Uzbek Oliy Majlis. Previously, he worked as the head of Sariasijsky district of Surkhandarya region.
