Iran adds to petroleum storage capacity

Azerbaijan, Baku, June 13/Trend M. Moezzi
Next week Iran will officially inaugurate a project boosting its petroleum products' storage capacity to 200 million litres.
Currently the Islamic Republic's ability to store 11.5 million litres of liquid fuel makes it possible to have 58 days of reserves without producing or importing fuel, Mehr news agency reports.
The inauguration of new refineries has led to greater need for storage. Last year (Iran's solar year ended on March 19), 16 storage tanks were built across Iran, adding a million litres of storage capacity.
The $11.5 million (USD) project to expand the Nezamieh oil storage facility in Ahwaz will add 126 million litres to Iran's fuel reserves. Completing the project adds three diesel storage tanks, three kerosene tanks and three petrol tanks to the facility.
