Tashkent aircraft plant may stop production

Uzbekistan, Tashkent, June 11 / Trend D. Azizov / The Chkalov Tashkent Aviation Production Association (TAPOiCh) may stop production this year, a government source told Trend on Monday. As previously reported, the Tashkent Economic Court initiated bankruptcy proceedings in October 2010 against TAPOiCH. By the court decision a procedure of observation was introduced in the company and a temporary court manager appointed. In November 2010 the Tashkent Economic Court approved the decision of creditors' meeting made in late October on the introduction at the factory of external control procedures for 12 months. According to the source, the decision to cease production of aircraft can be made ​​after the creditors' meeting, scheduled for November this year. The volume of accounts payable of the enterprise and the main creditors is not reported. According to the law "On Bankruptcy", the main feature of bankruptcy in Uzbekistan is the presence of the debtor on the date of appeal to the economic court of arrears of at least five hundred folds of the minimum wage (MW). Currently, minimum wage in Uzbekistan is 62,920 soums. TAPOiCH was established on the basis of the Russian Aviation Plant, which was evacuated to Uzbekistan in 1941 from the town of Khimki (Moscow region). The company produced various models of aircraft, wings and center section for AN-124 ("Ruslan") and AN-225 ("Mriya"), including the aircraft IL-76 and its numerous modifications.
