Azerbaijan to host conference on 20th anniversary of establishing anti-monopoly body

Azerbaijan, Baku, June 6 / Trend A. Hasanov / The international conference on "Role of anti-monopoly policy in economic development" will be held in Baku on June 20 in connection with the 20th anniversary of establishing the antimonopoly body in Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Economic Development said today. The conference will be organized by the Azerbaijani Ministry of Economic Development together with the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ). "The role of anti-monopoly policy in economic development will be discussed," the statement said. "The activity of anti-monopoly bodies will be assessed. The prospects and challenges of anti-monopoly bodies will be determined." Senior officials of the antimonopoly bodies from European countries and the CIS, as well as scholars and representatives of international organizations are expected to attend the conference. The 36th meeting of the Interstate Council for Antimonopoly Policy of the CIS countries will be discussed in Baku on June 21-22. The earlier made decisions will be discussed. The information will be exchanged between anti-monopoly bodies.
