Uzbek president appoints new head of Uzstandard

Uzbekistan, Tashkent, June 6 / Trend, D. Azizov / President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov has appointed Abdusalam Kurbanov as director general of Uzstandart Agency. Uzbek Agency for Standardization, Metrology and Certification is the national body for standardization, metrology, certification and quality management. Uzstandart deals with state registration of public, industrial, administrative and territorial standards, specifications, enterprises' standards for production, guidelines, as well as rules and regulations on standardization, metrology and certification. Prior to this appointment Kurbanov served as general representative of the company "UZ Daewoo" in several Russian cities.
