Italian company to estimate modernisation of Kazakh Pavlodar Petrochemical Plant project

Kazakhstan, Astana, May 29 / Trend D. Mukhtarov / The development of design estimates for the 'Modernisation of the Pavlodar Petrochemical plant' project has started, director general of the Pavlodar Petrochemical Plant, Shukhrat Danbai told Trend over the phone. "A tripartite contract was signed to develop design estimates for the project with the Italian company Technip Italy SpA," he said. "This means the project enters a new phase of implementation, the stage of development of design estimates. Afterwards new facilities will be constructed and existing facilities will be repaired." The press service of the Kazakh plant said that a tripartite agreement was signed between the management of Pavlodar Petrochemical Plant, Italian company Technip Italy SpA and Kazgiproneftetrans which is the Kazakh partner of the Italian company. The development of design estimates must be completed within a year. The final package will be formed up till August 2013, taking into account state expertise. It was previously reported that the implementation of the project will enable it to achieve an increase in productivity at the plant to 7.5 million tons per year, by increasing the depth of oil refining up to 90 per cent or more and allow the quality of the plant's products to conform to the Euro-5 standard. He said that the foreign companies which are the modern technology licensors in the field of oil refining will take part in its implementation. Pavlodar Petrochemical Plant concluded the agreements on technology transfer with these companies for the following processes: UOP Limited (UK) vacuum gas oil hydro treating, diesel fuel hydro treating, broad gasoline fraction hydro treating, catalytic cracking, reforming with continuous regeneration of the catalyst, isomerisation, purification of liquefied petroleum gas; Axens (France) gasoline catalytic cracking hydro treating, indirect alkylation, and Bechtel Hydrocarbon Technology Solutions, Inc. (CSHA) delayed coking. Technip Company is a world renowned engineering contractor with big centres in Europe, USA and South-East Asia. The company is among the top five corporations producing equipment for oil and gas extraction and production of petrochemical products, dealing with construction and rendering services in the oil and gas industry.
