HE Minister of Energy: Qatar is One of "the Fastest Growing Markets" in Special Logistics Services

Doha, March 12 (QNA) - Upon the Inauguration of the 10th International Cement Trade and Industry Conference (INTERCEM) events here on Monday, HE Minister of Energy & Industry, Dr. Mohammed Bin Saleh Al-Sada said Qatar has proved to be one of the fastest growing countries developing and offering special logistics services. He said of the new port project in Qatar dedicated for the reception of the imported cement is a "clear evidence" of the country s openness to the globe , the Arab and the foreign investments that Qatar attracts in all sectors specially the services and infrastructure ones. The (INTERCEM), second time held in Doha and during such an economic global crunch phase, refers to the position that Qatar has as a "Capital of global Economic growth" and the recognizable urban rise it witnesses. HE the Minister of Energy & Industry expressed confidence towards the conference as an opportunity to display many areas and oppotunities of investments in the Cement industry sector, as well as giving a space for discussing many key points concerning Economic development enhancement. HE Al Sada emphasized meantime that Qatar has recognized -in an early stage- the importance of the Economic diversity, the necessity of investment in the vital economic sectors, and the activation of the private sector's role in setting partnerships between them and the public sectors as it has been able to set and apply flexible procedures to support the exclusive economic performance as well as finding a suitable environment to the business community and supporting investments especially in the Industrial field. HE Minister of Energy & Industry further said that the government of the state of Qatar is assigning due care to the continuous development of the legal environment in pursuit of achieving the investors' needs and facilitating all challenges they might face in Qatar. Under such a scenario, Qatar became a focal point to many Arab and foreign companies and contributed at attracting foreign direct investments, the minister said. HE Al Sada mentioned as well Qatar s achievement of the annual production of 77 million tons of Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) as the state s goal to be the world s first clean energy source under the leadership of HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani . Qatar s hosting the 2022 FIFA World Cup is an evidence that the state s civilized message has "touched the sentiments of the globe", HE said. The hosting is more than just an occasion for the sports events, it s also about what the urban projects, accompanying the event,will contribute to supporting the developmental project in the country to rise with the individual s life in Qatar, in the region and the whole world. HE Al Sada expressed hopes that the conference bridges communication opportunities between the participants, contributes to enhancing the international relations and boosts exchange of interests between people and more strategic goals of the wise leadership of the state of Qatar. In a press statement on the margins of the conference, HE Minister of Energy & Industry said that Qatar embraces a number of old companies going back to the sixties era and having broad experience in the field of Cement Industry. He noted that Qatar will need to import extra amounts of Cement to cover the increasing demand on the material that will double up due to the huge urban movement the country witnesses. Al Sada were pleased by the participation of more than 400 participants and speakers from 45 countries, emphasizing this point as an opportunity for them to exchange views and come to an agreement on a plan to face the challenges of manufacturing, transporting and storing cement. Qatar is witnessing a speedy dynamic stage that requires the establishing of a larger number of projects in the upcoming years, having what it takes of the companies and figures able to face the recent challenges, he added.
