QP s Occupational Health Conference To Kick off on March 20

Doha, March 12 (QNA) -Under the patronage of HE Minister of Energy and Industry Dr. Mohammed bin Saleh Al-Sada,who is also Chairman & Managing Director of QP, the First Qatar Petroleum Occupational Health (QPOH) Conference is scheduled to commence on March 20-21 at the Grand Hyatt Doha . HE Dr. Al-Sada will be delivering the keynote address during the formal opening of the event held with the theme "Towards a Healthier Workforce." Th two-day conference, organized by QP s Medical Services Department in association with the Corporate HSE Department, will feature a distinguished list of speakers consisting of regional and international occupational health experts who will discuss a wide range of topics focusing on effective health management in the workplace. The event will also have a total of 28 papers to be presented by 24 occupational health experts from the academe, health ministries, health organizations, and the region s oil and gas industry. Among the main international speakers are Dr. Graham Bates, Medical Physiologist and Adjunct Professor at Curtin University s School of Public Health in Australia; Prof. David Koh, Chair of Occupational Health and Medicine at the Institute of Health Sciences of the University of Brunei Darussalam; Dr. Mark Newson-Smith, Chief Medical Compliance Officer of Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC) in Dubai, UAE; and Doo Yong Park, Professor of Industrial Health at Hansung University in Seoul, South Korea. QP will be strongly represented in the conference, with a total of nine speakers from the corporation s Medical Services Department led by its manager, Dr. Mahmood Abdul Rahman Al-Jaidah. This will enable the corporation to share its experiences in the implementation of various occupational health programs for the benefit of all employees in all areas of its operations. Other speakers at the First QPOH Conference will come from RasGas Company Limited (RasGas), Qatargas Operating Company (Qatargas), Qatar Shell, the Supreme Council of Health (SCH), International SOS, Abu Dhabi Onshore Oil Operation Company (ADCO), Shiraz University of Medical Sciences in Iran, and Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (du). The first QPOH Conference, to be attended by over 250 delegates from all over the region, will also have an integrated panel session, 15 poster presentations, as well as case studies discussions and workshops, in addition to the technical paper presentations.
