Iran believes in multi-cultural world: Mostafavi

Tehran, Oct 5, IRNA - Head of Islamic Culture and Communications Organization said on Saturday that Iran believes in multi-cultural world and favors interaction with other cultures.

Speaking to a visiting Thai scientific-cultural delegation headed by
an instructor with Thammasat University, Mehdi Mostafavi added that
Iran-Thailand relations are at their best because both the governments
and nations are interested in each other.

The Thai delegation includes 13 students and five instructors.

Mostafavi further said, "Your trip to Iran will help both nations
develop proper understanding about each other."
Rejecting the imposition of a culture on other cultures, he said, "We
do not favor the domination of a single culture over the world; rather
we believe that interaction between different cultures will promote
progress of all nations."
Mostafavi voiced his organization's readiness to hold scientific and
research seminars in the fields of humanities and exchange of students
and instructors with Thai universities.

He further hoped that cultural and scientific interactions will grow
with the implementation of the cultural agreement inked between the
two countries.

Head of the Thai delegation, for his part, underlined the impact of
the Islamic Revolution on the world and said that Iran is big and
influential country in the world.

Appreciating the efforts of Iran's Cultural Office in Bangkok, he said
that the delegation's visit of Iran aims to promote cultural ties
between the two sides.
