BMA controls quality of poultry during Chinese New Year

BANGKOK, January 18 (TNA) - The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has strictly controlled quality of poultry sold in the capital, amid its high demand during the upcoming Chinese New Year festival 2012, starting from this coming weekend till next week. According to an advisor to the Bangkok Governor, Sangchai Simakajorn, the BMA has prepared up to 100,000 bags labeled with digit codes for certified slaughtering houses and fowl shops to assure consumers of the safety of the poultry products, namely chicken, geese and duck meat, used for people's worships and consumption during the forthcoming Chinese New Year festival. The senior advisor said that people can conduct their on-line checks on the certified slaughtering houses and poultry shops at the [www.thaitrace.net] or the [www.vphbma.com] websites, or type TM, space, followed by product codes and send their messages, through mobile phones' short message service (SMS), to 4545111 to get immediate responses on the official information.
