Mulla: endorsing the IC law, a strike against the corrupt, freeing it from the cabinet domination

Baghdad (NINA) – MP from the Iraqiya Slate, Haidar Al Mulla, stressed that “legislating the Integrity Commission’s law in Parliament is a corner to combat corruption and a harmful strike for thieves, and freeing the IC from the domination of the cabinet.”

He told NINA today “the IS managed to lead a project of endorsing the IC law which is a harmful strike to the thieves and corrupt.”

Mulla added “the IS managed in cooperation with the Kurdish Alliance, and MPs from the National Alliance to pass the IC law with two votes more than those rejecting it,” pointing out that “endorsing the law was faced with rejection by the NA.”

Mulla went on saying “we managed today to free IC from the domination of the cabinet through endorsing the law that sets the mechanism of choosing the Commission’s presidency and connect it with the Parliament. Selecting the IC chairman is up to Parliament and the cabinet is not going to be allowed to interfere.”
