Qatar Statistical Authority Partakes the 58th World Statistics Congress

Doha,  August 20 (QNA) - Qatar Stastical Authority (QSA) will partake in the 58th World Statistics Congress, which will take place from the 21st to the 26th of August in the Convention Centre Dublin.
President of Ireland Mary McAleese will inaugurate the congress which will be held in the Convention Centre Dublin (CCD).     c
Almost 2,000 have registered already from approximately 90 countries and we expect that a few hundred more will do so over the next couple of weeks thus ensuring that the congress will be truly a "world statistical event"!
The Scientific Programme of the 58th Congress is now almost complete and will include around 1,400 papers/posters that will offer delegates innovative and stimulating topics with well-balanced presentations. A key feature of the 58th Congress will be the special Theme Day to be held on Wednesday the 24th August, where papers will be devoted to statistical issues relating to Water and Water
Quality. We expect that registrants will have access to the programme on line towards the end of July and a new feature
will enable them to plan their itineraries through the programme sessions in a way that optimises their participation in the Congress.
On 11th November, 1997, Mary McAleese was inaugurated as the eighth President of Ireland. Mary McAleese was re-elected on Friday 1st October 2004 being the only validly-nominated candidate. She is a barrister and former Professor of Law. Born on June 27th 1951 in Belfast, she is the first President to come from Northern Ireland.(QNA)
