4 Turkish planes bomb border areas in Kurdistan Iraq
Baghdad (NINA) – Turkish planes bombed on Wednesday evening, Aug. 17, the border area of Meteen.
Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) web site quoted an informed source in a statement to the press saying, “Four Turkish planes bombed heavily the Meteen area.” He did not give details on the damages caused.
The source added, “At 9:00 pm other planes violated Iraq’s air space in Kurdistan region in Soran district, Erbil province, and Qandeel Mountain valley.”
Damages resulted from the bombing could not be determined.
It is noteworthy that border areas in Kurdistan region are almost on a daily base are being bombed by Iranian artillery causing human losses and material damages.
