Govt geared up efforts for construction of dams,NA told
Islamabad, August 12, 2011 (PPI): The National Assembly resumed its session on Froday with Deputy Speaker Faisal Karim Kundi in the chair.
Responding to a point of order raised by Sardar Mushtaq, Minister for Religious Affairs Syed Khurshid Ahmad Shah on behalf of Minister for Water and Power said the present government has chalked out short as well as long-term mega projects which will help generate 20000 megawatts of electricity.
He said to cope with the electricity shortages the government has geared up efforts for construction of dams.
The Minister said that the country would not have been facing energy shortage if the previous government had paid attention towards it.
