11,000 Muslims Apply to Perform Haj
Doha, August 09 (QNA) - Over 11,000 residents in Qatar of 74 nationalities have applied to perform Haj (pilgrimage) this year, according to the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs website .
The deadline for the online registration ended on August 10 at 12:00 a.m. However, it will remain open for Qatari nationals until October 13, said Director of Haj and Umrah Department, Ali bin Mubarak Faihani.
The shortlisted applicants will enter a draw to decide the final names of those who will perform Haj and the department will send them text messages, he explained.
The selected candidates will have to complete the remaining procedures within seven day, the official added. (QNA)
