Four dengue cases reported in Karachi

Karachi, August 08, 2011 (PPI): At least four dengue viral fever cases have been reported from Karachi and all four patients are admitted in private hospitals.

Incharge Dengue Surveillance Cell of Sindh Health Department Dr Suresh Kumar told PPI Monday that four cases of dengue viral fever had been confirmed; however, the administration of private hospitals have refused to give names and details of these patients.

He said that the season of dengue fever has started in Sindh province and all government hospitals of the province have been asked to set up isolation wards for dengue patients. He said these patients would be provided free of cost treatment.

He urged citizens to take precautionary measures to save themselves from mosquito bite and in case of high fever they should immediately contact their nearest hospital.
