PSC Welcomes Doha Document For Peace in Darfur

 
Addis Ababa, July 20 (QNA) - The Peace and Security Council (PSC) of the African Union has welcomed the Agreement signed on 14th July between the Government of Sudan and the Liberation and Justice Movement (LJM) , adopting the Doha Document  for  Peace in Darfur.
​"This is a positive development which would contribute significantly to the promotion of peace and security in Darfur," said a communique issued by the Council following its 286 th meeting held on Tuesday.
​The PSC called for continuing the efforts aimed at urging the armed movements to join the peace settlement, according to the communique..
​It has also decided to extend , for a further period of 12 months, the mandate of the United Nation/African Union Mission in Darfur (UNAMID).  (QNA)
