Qatar Participates in UN Economic and Social Council Meeting
Doha, July 02 (QNA) - HE the Minister of Education and Higher Education Saad bin Ibrahim Al Mahmoud who is also Secretary General of the Supreme Education Council will lead a high-powered Qatari delegation to participate in the Ministerial Review of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) which will meet in Geneva from July 4 to 8.
HE the Minister will deliver the speech of the State of Qatar at the Council's opening session which will be attended by United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and President of the United Nations Economic and Social Council Lazarous Kapambwe.
During the meeting the Council will discuss the implementation of the agreed upon goals and commitments in the field of education and education challenges in Africa and Least Developed Countries (LDCs). It will also discuss the involvement of the private sector in education, the acceleration of education for all and the mobilization of resources and partnerships.(QNA)
