US troops prevented from entering Basra Provincial Council HQ
Basra (NINA) – Chairman of Human Rights Committee in Basra Provincial Council prevented today US forces from entering the PC building after an altercation.
Hussein Ali from Ahrar Bloc told NINA that preventing the US forces from entering the building was for breaching the security agreement which states that US force not allowed inside cities.
He added that “Basra PC decided earlier to ban the US forces from entering the city, and that was also breached, a matter that forced me to prevent them from entering the building.”
On the other hand, Basra PC chairman Jabbar Amine held a press conference after preventing the US forces from entering the PC building demanding them to immediately evacuate the Basra airport which these forces made it their base for them since 2003.
“The PC decided earlier to ban the American forces from entering the city and to evacuate the airport and to compensate the victims of their operations, therefore, the decision should be respected and implemented,” Amine went on saying.
