Laos, Vietnam enhance cooperation on planning and investment
VIENTIANE,JUN. (KPL)- Laos and Vietnam have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on economic strategy cooperation, culture and technical term cooperation in 2011 between two Ministries of Planning and Investment.
The document was signed in Vientiane Capital between Head Office of Ministry Planning and Investment of Laos, Mr. Kikeo Chanthaboury and his Vietnamese counterpart Mr. Trung Quoc.
Under the MoU, two ministries will enhance the existing special solidarity and cooperation to materialise bilateral strategic cooperation into practice between Laos and Vietnam, especially Houaphanh and Xiengkhouang provinces.
It was also stipulated that Vietnam would also further provide technical assistance to Laos on improving the capacity building for Lao officials from local to central levels in the field of economic plan administration.
They have pledged to enhance the existing comprehensive cooperation between two ministries in the frameworks of planning and investment and promotion of bilateral investments aimed at addressing the investment projects in Laos that have been licensed.
