ROTA to Launch Translation Programme

Doha, June 25 (QNA) - Reach Out to Asia (ROTA) organization, in cooperation with the Inter-Agency Network for Education in Emergencies (ENI) began to translate into Arabic the Agency's training means and tools.
The program will be held under the name of 'ENI Arabic Language Community to support quality education in emergencies, preparedness, response and recovery in the Arabic-speaking countries'.
The development of training tools in Arabic language was aimed to provide an opportunity for Middle East communities to have access to INE network expertise and take advantage of them.
ROTA Director Issa Al-Mannai said the programme has several key goals including guaranteeing the response of communities in the area to emergencies and dealing with them in accordance with applications and means belonging to ENI network "ENI" as well as enhancing the provision of education in emergency situations in the Middle East through a partnership between government institutions and humanitarian agencies to ensure the compatibility of their policies and commitment to funding education in emergencies. The Inter-Agency Network for Education in Emergencies is a network of groups and international agencies including the United Nations, governments and peoples affected by natural or man-made disasters. Its objective is to ensure the right of all to safe and high quality education during emergencies and times of recovery from disasters and wars.
As a result of intensive and wide cooperation, the Agency has developed special tools and means to meet this goal.
The representatives of ROTA attended last May in the Jordanian capital Amman, the launch of ENI in a ceremony attended, along with Rota by UNICEF, Save the Children, UNRWA and the International Rescue Committee. It was then agreed that all institutions in the Arab region should be encouraged to use these tools and means.
The documents that will be translated into Arabic are expected to include several topics including, among others, guidance notes of teaching and learning and pocket guide of inclusive education.
Manna said the programme will initially benefit about 250 Arabic language community members and some 800 Arabic-speaking member of the agency.(QNA)
