17 Japanese nationals work voluntarily in Laos

VIENTIANE,JUN.(KPL)- Seventeen Japanese volunteers are working in primary schools, university and hospitals as teachers and health workers and exchange culture with local people in nine provinces across the country.
The nine provinces in question are Oudomxay, Luang Prabang, Xiengkhouang, Vientiane, Khammouane, Savannakhet, Saravane, Sekong and Champassak.
The sending of the Japanese volunteers to Laos is facilitated by the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Laos.
On June 21, the Japanese volunteers paid a courtesy visit to Director of International Cooperation Department, Ministry of Planning and Investment, Mr. Somchith Inthamith.
Since 1965, the government of Japan has been sending over 750 volunteers to Laos to work in various areas across the country.
