Draft strategic plan on cluster bombs discussed prior to government consideration
VIENTIANE,JUN.(KPL)- Ministry of Foreign Affairs in cooperation with the National Regulatory Authority for the UXO/Mine Action Sector last week held a meeting on drafting a ten-year plan on cluster bombs in Lao PDR in Vientiane Capital.
Held under the chairmanship of Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Alounkeo Kittikhoun, the meeting saw the presence of representatives of international donators and relevant organizations in the country.
The meeting is aimed at providing an opportunity to international donators and relevant sectors in the country to brainstorm ideas and share points of views on the draft strategic plan before it is submitted to the government for consideration.
The draft strategic plan has been devised to facilitate the banning of the use and clearance of cluster bombs as well as the provision of assistance for victims and risk education in the country.
