Mutlag meets with Minister of Human Rights

Baghdad (NINA) - Deputy Prime Minister Salih Al Mutlag discussed with Human Rights Minister Mohamed Shiaa Al Sudani "ways to achieve human justice and bring fairness to the oppressed and the preservation of the freedoms under the democratic experiment Iraq is experiencing."

A statement issued by his office quoted him as saying "one of the things that human rights experts focused on is the social right, which did not come at random. The process of change also does not come at random it is a journey of struggle and human sacrifice and bitter experiences."

"The Iraqi citizen, in the successive governments before and after the occupation, sought the right to human dignity and the hope of freedom, in order to feel secure and he must get what he wanted as a civilized human being who refuses humiliation," he added.

For his part, Al Sudani pointed out to "the importance of giving an image of the new Iraq based on the democratic system and communication with international organizations and bodies that showed a great deal of assistance to Iraq in many areas."

He said there are indications that the human rights situation in Iraq is much better than it was in the past, according to the statement. /End/
