Journalists learn AIDS reporting
VIENTIANE,JUNE.(KPL)- Fifteen journalists from tabloids and broadsheets in Vientiane have participated in a training course on HIV/AIDS related reporting held between 30 May and June 10 at the Lao Journalists Association in Vientiane Capital.
The training course is organized by EST Ouest, Institute Panos Paris with sponsorship from the European Union.
The training course is designed to equip journalists with knowledge of reporting HIV/AIDS related articles and interviewing techniques which journalists can apply in their day-to-day work. The trainees were provided opportunities to conduct field based data collecting for reporting and face-to-face interview with HIV/AIDS victims at hospitals in Vientiane Capital, AIDS Prevention Centre, and Lao Red Cross and entertainment venues.
Present at the closing ceremony for the training course were Programme Officer of the European Union Delegation to Laos, Mr. Inpone Senkhamty, Representative of French Embassy in Laos, Mr. Jean-Pierre Galland, and Deputy Director of the National Radio, Mr. Vorasack Pravongviengkham.
