Including Iraq in the Human Development International Report, after 10 years of stoppage

Baghdad (NINA) - The United Nations Development Program endorsed the re-inclusion of human development indicators in Iraq's in the Human Development International Report after 10 years of stoppage.

A source at the Iraqi Ministry of Planning told NINA on Tuesday "the Central System of Statistics formed a working group to update the indicators of the Human Development, headed by Mahdi Al Allaq, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Planning and Chairman of the Central System of Statistics."

"The communications continued with the UNDP office of Iraq and the Human Development Report office in New York for two years after a tribute of regional and international organizations of the level of progress made ​​in the completion of information systems and indicators, national statistics, particularly after the confirmation of the World Bank's of credibility of the indicators of national income, which are of the most important indicators of human development," the source added.

The UN publishes an annual report on behalf of (HDR Bank) since 1990, and has stopped to include indicators of Iraq since 2001.

Iraq had launched two National Human Development Reports in 1995 and 2008.
