MORE HOUSES TO BE BUILT IN CYBERJAYA
CYBERJAYA, Sept 9 (Bernama) -- More medium cost residential units will be built in Cyberjaya in the next 20 years to cater to the increasing demand for houses here, said Setia Haruman Sdn Bhd's chief operation officer, Lao Chok Keang.
"About four years ago, we discussed with all the stakeholders including
Majlis Perbandaran Sepang and they agreed that we should increase the density
here from 28,000 to 42,000 units," Lao told a media conference here
Tuesday.
He said this will cater to the needs of the majority.
However, the company will still keep a certain portion of its land here for
high end development.
"That is why we have the Perdana Lake View East and Perdana Lake View West
which cater for the upper market," Lao explained.
He said demand for medium cost houses in Cyberjaya has improved a lot over
the last 12 months.
"With the opening of the new highway, the Kuala Lumpur-Putrajaya Highway, a
lot of people are looking at Cyberjaya as an alternative," he said.
At present, the total undeveloped land area in Cyberjaya is 1,817 acres or
96.4 percent of the total land area.
Setia Haruman has developed and sold close to 3,000 residential units in
Perdana Lake View West and Perdana Lake View East comprising 250 high-end
residential properties and 2,750 medium cost houses. From this, 200 high-end
residential units have been sold.
Setia Haruman will be launching its latest commercial project, CDB Perdana
2, here, this November.
The signature retail cum office suite is developed after the success of CDB
Perdana 1.
Cyberjaya is a new planned township with a science park as the core that
forms a key part of the Multimedia Super Corridor in Malaysia. It is located in
the district of Sepang, Selangor and is situated about 50 km south of Kuala
Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia. This town aspires to be known as the Silicon
Valley of Malaysia.
