US Ambassador stresses necessity to fulfill security posts
Baghdad (NINA) – US Ambassador to Iraq, James Geoffrey, stressed the necessity to fulfill security posts in accordance with agreement reached.
During a meeting with the Head of Kurdistan region, Massoud Barazani, on Monday, June 6, Geoffrey said, "President Barack Obama is concerned over security deterioration in Iraq, which requires condensed effort by all sided toward reaching a solution to the problem."
The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) web site said, "In the meeting Barazani and Geoffrey discussed, in addition to Iraq's security situation and security ministries, the fate of the Council of Strategic Policies, withdrawal of American forces from Iraq and the relations between the US and Kurdistan region with the withdrawal frame based of the Strategic Frame Agreement between Iraq and the United States."
Geoffrey pointed out the importance of Barazani's role in bringing various points of view of different Iraqi sides close together, in addition to Barazani's efforts toward reaching an agreed solution.
On the other hand, the two discussed in the meeting relations between the government of Kurdistan region and the Federal government and the out standing issues between them; where Barazani affirmed that such problems will be solved once the problems within the federal government are solved.
