Over 1.1 billion kip donated for Japan’s victims
VIENTIANE,JUNE.(KPL) - Since May 23, individuals and organizations in Vientiane have presented over 1.18 billion kip to the Committee on External Relations of Party Central Committee to further present as relief aid to the victims of earthquake and tsunami in northeastern Japan. Yesterday saw the presentation of donation package of over 31 million kip by the Enterprise of Telecommunications Lao for the natural disaster victims in Japan.
The aid package is from the ETL mobile users donating money through sending text messages. The handover of the relief aid was performed by Mr. Sisavath Inthavong, Deputy Director the Enterprise of Telecommunications Lao and Ms. Siphone Banchongphanith, Director General of the International Relations of Mass Organisations Department.
On Wednesday, the Lao Telecom, the Foundation for Assisting Poor People of the Lao PDR and the National Assembly presented 11 million, 65 million and 10.1 million kip, respectively to the Committee on External Relations, Party Central Committee to help the victims of natural disaster in Japan.
