Yemen, UNESCO, AGFUND discuss child educational needs

SANA'A, Sep 08 (Saba) - Minister of Education Abdul Salam al-Jawfi
met on Monday with the training coordinator in UNESCO Cairo office
director Ghada Gulam and the Women and Child Projects officer in
the Arab Gulf Program for United Nations Development Organizations
(AGFUND) Ghada al-Dakhil.

The meeting asserted the importance of training Yemen teachers in
particular the nursery teachers as well as preparing special
curricula for children that meet educational needs of children aged
between 3-6 years.

The meeting also discussed aspects of cooperation between Yemen and
the UNESCO and AGFUND.

On the other hand, deputy Education minister Abdullah al-Hamidi held
talks with Ghada Ghulam and Ghada al-Dakhil on support the UNESCO
plans to provide to set up a center to train nursery female teachers
across the republic.

During the talks, al-Dakhil briefed al-Hamidi on the projects
financed by the AGFUND.

The meeting stressed that learning children aged between 3-6 years
is very important since it helps get acquainted with children
potentials.

The Arab Gulf Program for United Nations Development Organizations
(AGFUND) is a gulf body headed by prince al-Waleed Bin Abdul Aziz
Al Saud and interested in supporting children worldwide.
