Anti-smoking meeting held
VIENTIANE,MAY.(KPL) - Ministry of Public Health in cooperation with the National Commission for Drug Control and Supervision held annual meeting on drugs control and National Smoke-Free Day, on Monday, May 30 in Vientiane Capital.
Meeting was attended by Dr. Inlavan Keobounphanh Deputy Minister of Public Health,
Prof. Dr. Prakit Vathesatogkit, member of the Thai National Committee on Tobacco Consumption Control, Dr. Bounlay Phommasack, Deputy Head of Hygiene and Prevention Department and also Coordinator of Inter-ministry Tobacco Control Committee and relevant officials.
“Establishing the Smoke Reduction Fund asks for enough funding to finance smoking control activities such as advertising, the organization of anti-smoking activities such as sporting competitions and art performances and the provision of counseling to smokers to help them stop smoking,” said Dr. Bounlay.
