AIRASIA TO OFFER EXTRA FLIGHTS FOR "HARI RAYA"

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 8 (Bernama) -- AirAsia Bhd Monday announced additional flights to meet the demand for services during "Hari Raya" (festival to celebrate the end of fasting month or Ramadan).

In a statement Monday, AirAsia said it was offering additional flights from
Kuala Lumpur to Sandakan, a town in East Malaysia state of Sabah, on Sept 27,
29, Oct 5 and Kuala Lumpur to Tawau, a town in East Malaysia state of Sabah, on
Sept 28, 30 and Oct 6.

There will also be additional flights from Kota Kinabalu to Penang on Sept
27, 28, from Kuala Lumpur to Yogyakarta in Indonesia on Sept 25, 26 and from
Kuala Lumpur to Medan from Sept 27 until Oct 5.

AirAsia's regional head of commercial, Kathleen Tan said, the airline in
addition would also introduce second frequency flights from Kuala Lumpur to Alor
Star beginning Sept 26.

"With the high fuel price, we strongly believe that it is cheaper to fly
on AirAsia as an alternative mode of transportation to 'balik kampung' or even
go for short breaks with friends during the holiday period," she added.
