’Change’ must to save country: JI

KARACHI, May 26, 2011 (PPI): A drastic change has become inevitable in Pakistan to save the state from further disasters, said Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) leaders here.

Addressing a big meeting of political cadres here at Idara Noor-e-Haq last evening they said the failed policies of the sitting rulers have done more bad for the country than good and the time is ripe to brining a decisive change to save the nation from more humiliations.

JI Karachi chapter Amir Mohammad Hussain Mehanti said that his party was practically working in this regard and it has planned a big protest sit-in in Karachi on 5th and 6th June against. He said that hundreds of thousands of political workers and citizens would take part in the sit-in and it would prove a harbinger for a big political change in the country.

Mehanti alleged that the pro-Americans rulers had turned the country into an American colony. The continuing drone attacks are against the national sovereignty, but the rulers have no courage to defend the territories of their country and stop this extra-judicial killing of innocent people through the US drone attacks, he said.

He said it needs very bold step to foil the conspiracies against Islam and Pakistan. He said that the people who dare to work for the sake of Islam should always have unshakable faith in Allah, the Almighty, and seek His help to defeat the enemy. “Our struggle is for implementing the Islamic welfare system based on the canons of Quran and Sunnah in Pakistan”.

He claimed that under the present circumstances only the JI had the capability to provide the nation an honest and responsible leadership. He said the JI has always played a positive and vital role whenever the country faced any crisis.

He alleged that the rulers were giving a free hand to America to toe its nefarious designs in Pakistan and the region. He said the unilateral policies of the US are against our independence and sovereignty. “America is continuing its drone attacks to further pressurize Pakistani state and the incident of Abbottabad is the clear proof of the US hegemony”.

Hussain said despite Pakistani parliament passed the condemnation resolution against American drone attacks, the Americans are still spilling blood in Pakistan through these aerial attacks.

He reminded that Pakistan was created to make a separate country for Muslims where they could live their lives as per their religious beliefs and values. He regretted that rulers despite of passage of half a century have failed to make laws as per teachings of Quran and Sunnah. He regretted that about 40% of Pakistani population lives beneath the poverty line due to the failed policies of corrupt regimes. He said due to the worsening law and order situation of Karachi the national economy is suffering a fatal blow and now even local investors are setting industries in other countries like Bangladesh.

Mehanti said that the nation sees the Jamaat-e-Islami as its last hope, adding his party would not let down the nation and country and would bring a pro-people revolution.

He announced that the JI would observe a mammoth sit-in on 5th and 6th June on MA Jinnah Road Karachi, which would set up a new milestone of pro-people and patriotic politics in Pakistan

JI Karachi Secretary General Naseem Siddiqui, Naib Amir Nasrullah Khan Shajee, Maulana Attaullah and others also spoke.
