Qatari Premier Visits Islamic Centre of Oxford University
London, May 23 (QNA) -HE Qatar's Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor Al-Thani paid a visit this evening to the new building of the Islamic Centre of the University of Oxford.
HE the Premier and Foreign Minister was greeted upon arrival by the President of the Centre Dr. Farhan Ahmad Nizami, and a number of academics and teaching staff of the university.
HE the Prime Minister toured the various sections of the building, designed by the internationally renowned architect Abdel Wahed al Waqil who adopted in the design the cellars, corridors and arches, in addition to the huge dome and minaret, which is of particular importance as the first lighthouse built in the university city, Oxford.
HE the Premier and Foreign Minister also visited the Library Auditorium, which is still under construction, where he writes in the visitors book. (QNA)
