Lami: Iraq will build a truly free press contributing in its reconstruction



Baghdad (NINA) – Chairman of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate, Muayad Al Lami, said Iraq is on the verge of building a free and real press contributing in building Iraq and make it ahead of the rest of the world countries by its legacy of civilization, free will and aspirations for the future.

He said, in a speech at the ceremonial distribution of lands deeds to journalists in the city of Samawa on Sunday "we used to dream that we have a small home in our great country Iraq. Today, we see efforts come together in order to achieve this goal and we came to Samawa and see that it opened the doors through the governorate and the provincial council to hold us and see the Prime Minister’s ordered being implemented in the city for the journalists.”

He added "this event is part of what the journalists deserve and part of a pledge made by Prime Minister Nouri Al Maliki to the press which made ​​sacrifices that we are all proud of.

The Muthanna Governor Ibrahim Salman Al Mayali reviewed some of the efforts to improve the quality of services provided to people of the province and the facilitations provided for those who do not have a house to get a piece of residential land. /End/
