Zibari receives copy of extension of Iraqi assets protection order
Baghdad (NINA) - Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zibari received a copy of the executive order issued by U.S. President on the extension of the protection of Iraqi assets in the United States for one year starting on May 22, 2011.
Zibari received today Steve Shabot, Head of the sub-Committee for the Middle East and South Asia in the Foreign Relations Committee of the US congress and two members in the congress,
in the presence of U.S. Ambassador James Jeffrey.
A Foreign Ministry statement said that during the meeting, bilateral relations after the withdrawal of U.S. forces by end of this year were discussed, and prospects of developing them based on the strategic agreement between the two countries signed in 2008 in the interest of the two peoples and countries.
The statement added that during the meeting, changes in the Arab region were also tackled. /End/
