PM lauds EU assistance to Laos
VIENTIANE,MAY.(KPL) - Prime Minister Thongsing Thammavong received at his office yesterday a courtesy visit of Mr. David Lipman, Ambassador of Europe to Laos and Head of the delegation of the European Commission to Laos.
At the talk, PM Thongsing and Mr. David Liman has discussed a number of important issues, especially the progressive of ratification of the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia, the results of the 7th National Assembly election, the preparation for hosting the 9th Asia - Europe Meeting (ASEM) by 2012.
On this occasion, PM Thongsing praised and highly valued the EU for its assistances to Laos in the past.
He also asked the EU to further its assistance to Laos for implementing its seventh five year social-economic development plan, especially in the field of rural development, poverty reduction and human resource development.
