Sayaboury: 3,000 cases of malaria recorded in the first six months
VIENTIANE,MAY (KPL) -Over 3,000 cases of malaria were recorded in the first six months with 160 cases of dengue fever documented in the same period in Sayaboury.
Almost 500 were found suffering from skin diseases. Meanwhile, the vaccination against diseases for women and children in the first half of the current fiscal year was achieved by 16%.
The Sayaboury Health Service held a meeting to review its work in the first six months and discuss plan for the second half of the year.
The meeting was chaired by Deputy Head of the Sayaboury Health Service, Dr. Khamla Phouthonesy. It also saw the presences of health officials from 11 districts in the province.
Action plan for health sector in the province for the next five years was also briefed at the meeting, which is aimed to decrease patients in number and help ethnic people, mainly women and children access health service.
Sayaboury province has more than 700 health officials.
