Japanese scholarship alumni present cash donation for Japanese victims
VIENTIANE,MAY (KPL) - The The Japanese scholarship alumni in Laos presented on Wednesday a cash donation of 47.8 million kip to the Committee on External Relations, Party Central Committee, to further present to the Japanese government for relief assistance of victims of earthquake and tsunami in Japan.
The handover of relief aid was performed by Vice-President of Japan Alumni of Laos Association, Ms. Parima Phetsiriseng, and Deputy Head of International Cooperation of Mass Organisations Department, Party Central Committee, Mr. Keo Makkhaphonh and relevant officials of both sides.
The donation package is the contribution from general public members and organizations through fund raising activities such as t-shirt selling and charity concert.
The Japan alumni in Laos have presented three donation packages to relevant sectors to help the Japanese victims three times so far.
The first one mounts to 51 million kip, the second one is
6.2 million kip and the third one is 47.8 million kip.
