RoK strengthens Laos’s capacity in economic research
VIENTIANE,APRIL (KPL) - Ministry of Planning and Investment and the Korea Expert Consulting Group held an international workshop on capacity building on research into measures of macroeconomic stabilization for Lao officials.
The workshop, the first of its kind, is designed to improve the national macroeconomic stabilizing policy in the Lao PDR by enabling the Lao officials to learn lessons and experience of the Republic of Korea in managing impacts of global economic recessions.
The workshop is part of the cooperation between the Lao PDR and the Republic of Korea on capacity building of the Lao officials, mainly those of the National Economic Research Institute, on conducting research into economic issues so that they can present them as fundamental study to the government before it can issue a development policy.
A research on macroeconomic stabilizing in the Lao PDR, conducted by the Lao economists in cooperation with their Korean counterparts, was presented at the workshop.
