Sayabouly to focus on improve the public health service for women
VIENTIANE,APRIL 20. KPL) - A meeting of Committee for Women’s Advancement of Sayaboury province has agreed to improve the public health service for women, women’s empowerment and women’s right protection.
These works were approved at a meeting, held in Sayaboury province, on 19 April under the chairmanship of Deputy Governor, Mr. Yanyong Sipaserth.
The meeting has drawn Deputy Head of Sayaboury Committee for Women’s Advancement, Ms. Phengchith Thikeo and officials concerned.
A new Provincial Committee for Women’s Advancement was approved to establish and accomplishments of the 6th Women Nationwide Meeting has also been disseminated at the meeting.
A policy draft for promoting women’s advancement of 2011-2015, based on the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women has been approved.
The meeting has also evaluated five focal action plans of Provincial Committee for Women’s Advancement, including the implementation of strategy for women’s development, poverty reduction and promotion of education for women and children.
