Vientiane invests billions kip in road improvement
VIENTIANE,APRIL 20. KPL) -) Vientiane province has invested 6 billion kip in improvement of a road stretching from Viengkham district to Phonmee T-junction, Phonhong district.
A member of Public Works and Transport Service of Vientiane province, Mr. Phouvone Bounvilay said, “This road is now 25 per cent completed”.
The road improvement work started early this year and will be expected to complete this year.
The first section of Phonmee T-junction will be expanded to four lanes with two-layer asphalt pavement, amounting to 3.6 billion kip. The asphalt road was undertaken by a local company “Road and Bridge Construction”.
The second one, stretching 1,200 m from Phonmee T-junction to Vientiane Administration Office was invested by Bounhom Road and Bridge Construction Company, worth 3.2 billion kip.
“Ministry of Public Works and Transport was responsible for payment of road expense to the two contracting companies,” said Mr. Phouvone.
“We are on study to pave an asphalt road running 1,800 m from Phonmee T-junction to Military Headquarter of Vientiane province. The investment of road is estimated to 4 billion kip,” said Mr. Phouvone.
The road improvement is one out of many works determining in the socio-economic development plan.
