TRADE, INVESTMENT TO BE PROMOTED IN BEIJING "INDONESIA WEEK 2008"
Beijing, Aug 31 (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Embassy in Beijing is to stage "Indonesia Week 2008" on October 10-15 in Wangfujing, Beijing, to promote Indonesia's trade, investment and tourism potentials to the people of China, an embassy spokesperson said.
"Such an activity will be a golden opportunity for Indonesia to promote its trade commodities, investment, and tourism to the people of China in particular and the international community in general," the head of the embassy's social and cultural affairs section, Rosmalawati Challid, said here on Sunday.
She said various trade commodities, cultural and art performances, fashion show, food festival, photo exhibition, and business forum would be staged in the Indonesia Week 2008.
She added that the event was intended to build strategic partnership between Indonesia and China, and to promote investment, trade, and tourism.
"The event is expected to step up bilateral trade volume and to encourage the flow of Chinese investment and tourists into Indonesia," she said.
She said the Indonesia Week 2008 in Beijing would be a strategic and important event for the Visit Indonesia Year 2008 (VIY 2008) and the Asia-European Summit (ASEM) in Beijing which was expected to be attended by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.
