Third Lao-Thai Friendship Bridge connected

VIENTIANE,18 APRIL. (KPL) - The Third Lao-Thai Friendship across the Mekong River between Khammouane province, Laos and Nakhon Phanom province, Thailand was finally connected on 7 April.
The connecting ceremony of the bridge drew high-ranking officials of two countries, Lao side was accompanied by Mr. Sommad Pholsena, Minister of Public Works and Transport and Mr. Khambai Damlat, Khammouane Governor and Thai side was led by Sophon Sarum, Thai Minister of Transport and Nakhan Phanom Governor and their relevant officials.
Now, the construction work of third Lao-Thai Friendship Bridge is more than 80 per cent completed.
The bridge is an important for providing more facilities to people between two countries, and boost bilateral socio-economic development, transport and each exchange visit.
The bridge is a linking place and the West-Southern Economic Corridor among three countries comprising Laos, Thailand and Vietnam.
